Madame Thérèse by Lili Desrues Textile design

With a degree in textile, material and surface design from Paris, Lili continued her education at the La Cambre National School of Visual Arts in Brussels. It was her eagerness to find common ground between pattern creation and materials that pushed her to embroidery, in 2014, where she specialised in Luneville embroidery alongside Manuel Rodriguez (Lesage, Paris). Parallel to her work in stage costume, Lili did not stop learning the various techniques of embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework in London.
In 2018, the embroidered accessories brand 'Madame Thérèse' was born, giving new value to traditional embroidery techniques such as the Luneville crochet beadwork, gold embroidery, and the embossed embroidery known as 'stumpwork', in the creations using traces of modernity and humour.
In her Belgian workshop, Lili continues to develop designs and embroidered surfaces, always aiming to combine technicality with creativity.
