Culture Moves Europe Supporting international mobility of creatives

With Culture Moves Europe, the European Commission offers mobility grants to creators, artists, cultural professionals.

Open until 30.04.2026, this initiative will finance the mobility of thousands of professionals, including in the design and fashion sectors.

Who is it for?

Artists and cultural professionals can apply with a proposal to carry out a project with an internatinoal partner of their choice in a Creative Europe country.

What for?

The project should pursue two of the 4 following goals:

  • to explore: to conduct creative and artistic research, to investigate, inspire and work on a specific theme or a new concept
  • to create: to engage in a creative process seeking to produce a new piece of artistic/cultural work
  • to learn: to enhance competences and skills through non-formal learning or collaboration with a specialist
  • to connect: to develop a professional network, to strengthen the  professional development, to engage with new audiences

    Which costs?

    The grant covers :

    • Daily allowance: €85 per day.
    • Travel allowance: €400 or €800 depending on distance.
    • Bonuses: Green mobility (€400), family support (€200 per child), visa (€120), accessibility (€30 per day).

    Calendar
    • Application period opens: October 1, 2025.
    • Application deadline: April 30, 2026.
    • Evaluations: Monthly (except December 2025).
    • Results: Up to 8 weeks after each deadline.
    • Project start date: Minimum 2 months after the deadline.
    • Maximum duration: 6 months after the contract is signed.
    What are the selection criteria?
    • What is the candidate’s objective and why is mobility relevant?
    • Is the project well planned (with the international partner, duration, etc.)?
    • What will be the positive long-term effects of the project (including the participants’ professional development)?
    • Does the applicant take environmental sustainability into account in his or her mobility project?
    Applications
    • Applications to be submitted in English on the Goethe Institut website, with a monthly deadline (which means that applications are evaluated and grants awarded every month).
    • Several documents to be prepared: CV, proof of collaboration with foreign partner, portfolio, etc.
