
The 11th Dorothy Waxman International Textile Design Prize is now open. The prize is awarded to a current or recently graduated textile or fashion student who demonstrates sustainable thinking and innovative creativity in the field of textiles.

The prize is part of Li Edelkoort and Philipp Fimmano‘s TALKING TEXTILES initiative, which aims to promote education and creativity in textiles.
Who is it for?
The competition is international and open to students currently enrolled in a textile, fashion, interiors or lifestyle educational institution. Graduates from 2024 and 2025 are eligible to enter.
How to apply?
Submit your application by 30.07.2025 containing:
- Conceptual description of the work 200 words maximum.
- Technical description of the work 200 words maximum.
- A minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 photographs of the work. Photos must be in JPEG format, with a minimum of 300 dpi per photo.
- Video files are accepted (not mandatory but recommended) in addition to JPEGs.
How are applications selected?
Finalists will be selected on the basis of innovation, creativity and sustainability.
Prizes?
Finalists will be announced in early September, and will present their work online to a professional jury on Zoom in mid-September. The winner will then be announced during the Talking Textiles webinar at the end of September, and will take home a $5,000 prize.
The finalists’ work will be showcased on various online platforms and social media during New York Textile Month in September 2025.
